vt6655 is a VIA driver for PCI devices, and vt6656 is for USB. 

vt6656 is a mac80211 driver, since 3.17+. 

vt6655 is a mac80211 driver, since 3.19+.

These are in the **staging** tree at linux-2.6/drivers/staging and it is **NOT supported** by linux-wireless developers or mailing list.
